Saint Nohra Church

0.3 km away Spiritual & Wellness

The Church of St. Nohra, one of the oldest in the Levant, dates back to the 3rd century and is dedicated to St. Nohra (or St. Logius), a martyr said to have been executed in a nearby fortress. First mentioned in a medieval Bible manuscript housed in Florence's Medici Library, the church was built in stages, using stones from former pagan temples. Revered as the patron saint of eyesight, St. Nohra made the church a major pilgrimage site for those seeking healing.
